How Can I Help?

The Bible references orphans and adoption as many as 54 times because of its importance to the Lord. About half of these verses describe God’s heart for this specific group of children. The other half pertain to Christians’ mission to protect, give justice to and provide for “the least of these.”

Orphan care is evident in the lives of all adoptive families, and most feel the burden continue helping.  Others may not be able to adopt, but are still called to help.  The point being, help can be offered in many ways.

What are some things that you can do to help the children?

Donate

Financial Contributions

  • 100% of all proceeds given to God’s Children Haiti go directly to helping the parentless. We are not seeking to build our kingdom, but rather we use these gifts to help build God’s Kingdom.  Not only does God’s Children Haiti have needs for the orphans here today, there are many more children who desperately need help.  There are no shipping costs with this sort of contribution, so they tend to be the most efficient means of helping.

Donation of Goods

  • The Children are in need of everyday things, such as clothes, that it can be economically feasible to ship.

Fund a Project

  • From time to time, God’s Children Haiti has specific projects that are individually planned for and funded.

God’s Children Haiti is a 501(c)3 entity, so donations are tax deductible by the rules defined in 26 USC § 170 – “Charitable, etc., contributions and gifts“.

Advocate

Becoming an orphan advocate is a wonderful way to help, and God’s Children Haiti would be both honored and grateful for your involvement.

Pray

  • Ministry certainly cannot be measured by money alone.  More than anything else, we need the Lord’s help to sustain our ministry and help us to accomplish His mandate to advocate on behalf of these children whose cries, too often, go unheard.  Please pray for our mission.

Share

  • Consider telling your friends, family, Church and community about your own adoption story, your orphan advocacy efforts, or about God’s Children Haiti’s mission and vision. Every person has the power to help inform and influence others to understand the need and importance of caring for orphans.

Creative Fundraising

Missions

There is a biblical mandate in James 1:27 to visit orphans in their distress:

“Pure religion, undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Please contact us if you are an individual, church, school or other ministry interested in partnering with God’s Children Haiti, or if your church is looking to start an orphan ministry.  We would love to talk with you about opportunities to serve orphaned children in Haiti, and there are many ways in which you could do so.  Among the most needed are Medical Missions.

Adopt

Adopting a child is a life-changing decision for both the parents and the waiting child. And while there are many relatively healthy children who wait to be adopted, there are also many children who wait for a family simply because they have a special need. Some special needs are quite minor, while others require some type of intervention or correction. Some children wait to be adopted due to a health issue requiring surgery, while others have chronic, though quite-manageable health issues.

Adopting a special needs child is one of the most noble of endeavors, and it may be in your family’s future. Please pray about the joys and challenges of loving one of these incredible children, then contact us to learn about the possibilities if you are called to strongly consider it.

We pray that one of the above means of helping calls to you.  Please contact us to discuss what you have in mind.  We would love to connect with you, answer any questions that you may have, and help you realize your calling.
